Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

A week-long high impact experience dedicated to increasing awareness of homelessness and basic needs insecurities in our communities and college campuses at Kennesaw State University.

  • Hoot Out Hunger – This yearly campus and community food drive benefits CARE Services’ on-campus food pantry that is accessible to all KSU students experiencing food insecurity.
  • United Way Spark Prize – In collaboration with United Way of Greater Atlanta and KSU’s Wellstar College of Health and Human Services, this pitch competition encourages collaboration and innovation alongside nonprofit partners working to eradicate hunger and homelessness.
  • Empty Bowls – Many hands across campus come together to raise funds and awareness for CARE Services through providing a meal and ceramic bowls for participants. This event is a collaboration between CARE Services, KSU’s College of the Arts, and University Dining.
  • Cobb Community Vigil of Remembrance – This event brings together students and community members to honor Cobb County residents who have passed away while experiencing homelessness.
